Free Work at Home Jobs - 3 Tips to Uncovering Real Opportunities

Author: Bryan Hufford

When most people think about work at home jobs and the internet in the same breath, chances are they also think of the word "scam". And, who could blame them? Since the internet first started gaining popularity, the scam-ridden claims of people making a killing on the web for little to no work involved took it by storm. The catch was, if you wanted to know "the secrets", you had to pay a fee. Oftentimes, the information was sub-par, and people were left in the dark with the loss of a few bucks.

While the internet still has its scams these days, it also has more opportunity than ever. More and more companies have started up thanks to the growth of the internet, which has created demand for more jobs. This is obviously a good thing for those looking for employment, but not just any kind of employment - I'm talking about work at home jobs! If you're on the prowl for a scam free work at home job, here are 3 tips that can help you uncover work at home opportunities on the net:

Do Your Research

A work at home job isn't going to find its way into your lap - you need to get out there and do the research! Start scouting on job listing websites (like Monster, Careerbuilder, Craigslist, etc.) and look for telecommuting positions. Save the jobs you're interested in applying in and the company names.

Look Into Each Potential Company

When it comes to work at home jobs, you still need to make sure your information is safe and is not sent to just any old person, place or business. That's why I highly recommend that you research each company that you're applying with. If there is no business name listed, try to find a phone number. If you get a bad vibe when you call or have to question their legitimacy, cross them off of your list.

Contact Companies You Want to Work for

Rather than scour the internet for scam free work at home jobs, why not try to contact companies that you want to work for? Go after your favorite businesses and see if they could use some help and if the work could be done electronically and from home. This could even work better with local businesses, as you would be able to be accessible if they needed you for any reason. It doesn't hurt to try!

There you have it - When you're on the prowl for a new work at home position and can't seem to find the right way to go about it, follow the 3 tips above and you'll be surprised at how many opportunities you'll find!

I’d like to try working at home but every time I look for a job all I find are scams and jobs that want to charge you a fee.

You can look over a site called Odesk dot com. They have lots of opportunities to freelance and do work that you get paid for. It is free to register and they have lots of opportunities, some are junk, like posting messages on blogs and craigslist, others are legit.

You actually have a few different options. There are a couple different home jobs you can do. The ones that are not scams, understand that they are minimum wage earnings, so you won’t make a sufficient amount of money. After taxes, you will end up making below minimum wage. Here’s a couple URL’s you can take a look at and apply. I can’t guarnatee that you’ll get the job, home jobs are high in demand because of the gas prices which causes food and everything else to go up, but you can apply.

If you need more then a minimum wage job, then I suggest you take a look at a home based business opportunity. There are plenty of options out there through many different industries. My husband and I have had our home based business for many years in the telecommunications industry. It’s an incredible adventure!
If you’d like some ideas on home based businesses, a friend of mine created a blog on her yahoo 360 page on this topic. Over half a dozen different industries to take a look at. I’ve had friends of mine who are in different industries and have their own business inside a business and do very well. A lot of information on my blog on scams, reports, bbb and a lot of other things you should read on. The URL to that is:

I’ve never been able to find a work from home job like data entry or online surveys which allowed me to make a real income.

But this is what I do – I usually buy 200 items on ebay for 1cent each every week, all these items are sold with free postage worldwide. So if you just buy 5 items, total cost to you in just 5cent.

These ipod covers, cables etc are shipped from Hong Kong and China, but once they’re delivered, you can then resell them yourself on ebay for $1 to $2 to people in your own country.

My blog shows how to find these 1cent items on ebay, using the advanced search. There’s no need to spend more than 5c per item as there’s thousands of items listed like this, so if you get outbid on one auction, just wait a few minutes until the next auction is ended.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
